Job Summary:
The Senior Break/Fix Engineer is part of a team that is responsible for the troubleshooting and support of all production-based platform applications whose key functions include content management, large-scale print, e-delivery, and smartphone support. The person in this role may work in small teams and have occasional individual projects. This position reports to the Production Engineer Team Lead, with oversight from the Sr. Director of Architecture.

Essential Functions
•    Troubleshoot and support the existing production-based content management portal.
•    Troubleshoot and support client implementation applications post-production on existing platform.
•    Designs/codes enterprise-level solutions and applications following specifications using the appropriate tools. 
•    Produce effective technical documentation. 
•    Enhance and maintain existing applications on their own and with guidance and collaboration with architects and other engineering team members. 
•    Assumes responsibility for ongoing data architecture for product. 
•    Review work by peers and more junior developers.  Provide technical knowledge sharing sessions.
•    Other duties as assigned by management. 

Education Required
•    BA/BS degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge & Experience
•    6+ years of experience in software development, including 3+ years of working with java/j2ee.
•    Familiarity with distributed enterprise applications (systems that span several physical machines).
•    Experience with Event-Driven architectures.
•    Experience developing/supporting/maintaining applications on a Linux/UNIX platform. 
•    Experience with Object-Oriented Analysis and Design.
•    Experience with web application technologies and frameworks (i.e., JSP, AJAX, AngularJS).
•    Experience with secure software designs.
•    Experience working on small and fast paced software teams.
•    Proficiency in MySQL/Apache/Tomcat. 
•    Experience with SOA and Web Service architectures including protocols such as SOAP or REST preferred.
•    Experience delivering products in an Agile environment preferred.
•    Knowledge of large-scale printing technologies (PDF, PPML) preferred.
•    Knowledge of smart phone platforms (IOS, Android) preferred.

•    Must be able to frequently communicate via telephone.
